On Sunday, May 19th at 5 o'clock PM I will be performing at a poetry reading at the Corner College in Zurich (Kochstr. 1, tram 2 or 3 to Lochergut). American poets Susana Gardner (who lives in Zurich), Renee Gladman and Danielle Vogel will be reading their poetry. I will be performing settings of 11 poems of Susana's that I composed for voice and violin, which will be played by Renato Zenobi. The readings will be in English.

You can read more about the poets and Renato below.

Susana Gardner is the author of the full-length poetry collections HERSO (Black Radish Books, 2011) and [ LAPSED INSEL WEARY ] (The Tangent Press, 2008). Her third book, Caddish is just out with Black Radish Books. She has published several chapbooks, including Hyper-Phantasie Constructs (Dusie Kollektiv, 2010) and Herso (University of Theory and Memorabilia Press, 2009). Her poetry has appeared in many online and print publications including Jacket, How2, Puerto Del Sol, and Cambridge Literary Review among others. Her work has also been featured in several anthologies, including 131.839 slög með bilum (131,839 keystrokes with spaces) (Ntamo, Finland, 2007) and NOT FOR MOTHERS ONLY: CONTEMPORARY POEMS ON CHILD-GETTING AND CHILD-REARING (Fence Books, United States, 2007). She lives in Zürich, Switzerland, where she also edits and curates the online poetics journal and experimental kollektiv press, Dusie. www.dusie.org

Renee Gladman is the author of six works of prose, most recently Event Factory and The Ravickians (Dorothy, 2010, 2011), and one collection of poetry, A Picture-Feeling (Roof Books, 2005). The third novel in her Ravicka series, Ana Patova Crosses a Bridge, is due out in Fall 2013. Her work occupies the interstices of fiction and poetry, and pushes toward cities, architecture, and the confusion of the everyday. Since 2005, she has edited and published Leon Works, a press for experimental prose and other thought projects based in the sentence. She lives in one of the tiny states, where she teaches fiction and book arts. www.poetryfoundation.org

Danielle Vogel’s textile scroll-works and ceramic book artifacts, which explore the ceremonial gestation of a manuscript as it is written, have been exhibited in galleries across the United States. Her most recent collection, Narrative & Nest, is a cross-disciplinary study relating the construction of nests to the writing of books — both as complex sites of composition, habitation, instinct, and narrative. She is the author of Narrative & Nest (Abecedarian Gallery, 2012) and lit (Dancing Girl Press, 2008). She received her MFA in Writing & Poetics from Naropa University, and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Denver. She lives in Providence, Rhode Island.

Violinist Renato Zenobi obtained a violin teacher's degree (1985), studying with Anton Fietz, and complemented his education with Brenton Langbein (Zurich), Gennady Kleyman (USA) and Mark Kaplan (USA). His repertoire is broad, covering baroque to contemporary music, as well as salon music and gipsy jazz improvisation. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Palo Alto Symphony Orchestra and as winner of the Stanford Student Soloist Award with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra. He plays a Guarneri copy built 2011 by the renowned Swiss violin maker Philippe Girardin. Zenobi's main profession is chemistry: he has been on the faculty of ETH Zurich since 1995 as professor for analytical chemistry.
